We have a garden! Like a real, legit garden. Finally!
Take a look…(and make sure to check out the plant markers I made at the end of the post)
Shopping for our garden. Echter’s is my new favorite place. Amazing.
Cart full of green.
Seeds just waiting to be planted.
Me and the garden took a selfie.
Section one of the garden: Beets, Radishes, Onions, 3 Tomato plants, Rhubarb, and Horseradish.
The second section of the garden: Lettuce, Bell Peppers, Cucumbers, and Peas.
Rhubarb & Horseradish.
A garden must: The Compost Pile.
The tomato plants are doing great!
Where the herbs grow. Oh, and don’t forget the jalapeno.
We have lots of herbs: Cilantro, Rosemary, Parsley, Oregano, Thyme, Basil, Sage, Chives, & Dill. Our little jalapeno plant is keeping them company.
Out for our daily watering of the garden. Quinn is a good helper 🙂
She’s good for some laughs, too.
The rest of the yard! Can you spot the Poppies?
See! Poppies are so pretty.
Since we’re talking about flowers now, we better check out the bountiful front yard.
In the front we have Geraniums & Petunias.
And over by the driveway there’s a whole load of beautiful flowers. Peonies, Irises, & Lupines! Oh my!
Now let’s move on to the DIY Project. Here’s how I made plant markers for our garden:
The supplies: all you need are rocks, paint, & paint brushes. Easy!
Paint yo’ rocks.
All painted. It took 2 or 3 coats with each rock.
I used a toothpick to write the names in black paint. Yes, a bit tedious, but patience is a virtue.
I jazzed up each rock with splashes of other paint colors.
The results, Part II!
Plant markers are all done!
We haven’t found a place to plant the pumpkins or squash yet and we haven’t found any asparagus, but we’ll keep looking!
If you need me, I’ll be in the backyard watching the garden grow. 🙂
