We went on our first family vacation! Last Saturday we loaded up the Jeep and headed to Estes Park for a night away from home. Here is our weekend in pictures:
The drive up to Estes Park is beautiful! Quinn let out a bunch of “oooohhhs” as we drove through the canyon.
We stayed at The Stanley Hotel. Perhaps you’ve heard of it before…it’s the hotel that inspired Stephen King’s novel, The Shining.
Isn’t it gorgeous. Nothing to be scared of 🙂
Ok, so maybe some of it is scary. I took the picture on the left while walking down the hallway to our room…my walking sure gave the photo a spooky effect! The picture on the right is a quick one I took in the cramped, old elevator. Pretty cool! I did a poor job taking photos of the inside of the hotel, I have far more pictures of Quinn than anything else from the vacation. Go figure!
Quinn tried to claim the bed for herself.
Clark Family Vacation
The view from our window: peaceful (and fuzzy from the screen).
Tired little lady.
We had a perfect view of the sunrise the next morning. Not a bad way to start off my birthday. 🙂
We survived a night away from home! Our peanut even slept through the night, what a good girl.
Coffee + Blueberry Muffin = a fully-charged mama.
Our mini-vacation went fast, but it was a success! Us ladies held down the back seat on the way home (stopping at the Carters Outlet on the way, of course).
Did vacation wear her out?
I think so. 🙂
All-in-all, it was a great getaway. We would love to go back there when Quinn gets a little older so we can explore a bit more. It’s a beautiful place with lots to do! Thanks so much to Josh’s parents for the gift certificate to the hotel!
