Friday Favorites

Friday has arrived!  I’m looking forward to this weekend, Josh might actually have the weekend off for the first time in what seems like a decade.  Hooray!  All of the things on my to-do list for the week are already checked off, so that means only fun things are on the agenda for this weekend.  Double hooray!  I hope you have a fun weekend, please enjoy my favorite things from around the web in this week’s Friday Favorites.

Favorite Pasta: Creamy Butternut Squash Pasta.  I made a butternut squash mac & cheese last year that I still can’t get out of my head.  When I saw this recipe, I immediately printed it and can’t wait to make it.  The squash makes for a creamy sauce that you forget is healthy.

Favorite Rug: Zigzag Rug from Urban Outfitters.  The beginning stages of planning the nursery for our baby have begun!  I’m leaning toward gray & white for the base colors and then once we find out the gender we will use appropriate pops of color.  This rug would really pull the room together.

Favorite Drink: Pumpkin Spice White Hot Chocolate.  Giving up coffee has not been easy.  I know that chocolate has caffeine in it, but a serving of this would not be above the recommended amount of caffeine a preggo can consume.  I need something warm and delicious like this Pumpkin Spice White Hot Chocolate on cold, snowy mornings like this morning.

Favorite Boots: Steve Madden Fairmont in Black.  I have a good number of black clothing items in my closet and only black heels to wear with them.  Heels are just not going to happen anytime soon, so black boots it shall be!

Favorite DipPumpkin Pie Dip.  Gingersnaps dipped in pumpkin dip, you have my heart.  I’d also eat straight-up pumpkin dip without the gingersnaps.  Why not?

Favorite Clean Products: Diapers, Bath & Body Products, and Non-Toxic Cleaners from The Honest Company.  As I was cleaning last week, a wave of panic rushed over me that maybe I shouldn’t be breathing in some of the fumes from our household cleaners.  I’ve heard a lot of good things about The Honest Company and am thinking I should give their products a try.  Has anyone used any products from them or another non-toxic brand?

Favorite Stuffing: Sausage & Apple Stuffing.  Possibly my favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner is the stuffing.  A bread based side dish can never be bad. 🙂

Favorite Cooking Tip: Which onion is best?  This is super helpful for me.  When grocery shopping, it seems as though I just grab the cheaper of the white or yellow onions without really thinking about which is better for the dishes I’m making.

Favorite Cookies: Candy Corn Sugar Cookies.  How adorable!

Favorite Fashion: H&M’s Maternity Wear.  Last weekend I went shopping with my parents and picked up some belly bands at Motherhood and then I vowed to wait until the last possible minute to buy maternity wear.  That didn’t last long.  I checked out the Sale Maternity section at H&M and just had to order this dress.  And a pair of pants.  And a tank top.  But the total was only $35, I just couldn’t pass that up!!!

Favorite Soup: Chicken Pot Pie Soup with Cheddar Biscuits.  Brilliant recipe, just brilliant!

Favorite Halloween Pumpkins: 10 No-Carve Halloween Pumpkin Ideas.  Why carve a pumpkin when you can paint or bedazzle it??

Favorite Apples: Creepy Candy Apples.  I’m not usually a fan of candy apples, but these made my mouth water.  Yum.

Favorite Funny: Funny onsies.  I might be addicted to finding funny onesies online now.  Most of them talk about poo, which I find hilarious.  Much like a 6 year old would.

Happy, happy Friday to you!!
